It all started one day in college in Spring 2006… Two friends were driving this small campus van that drove people around on late nights. It was there that Faf and Jake heard the first 2 songs that would change their lives. They responded with the attitude that “I’d like to hear some more music like that”. At that time, Faf and Jake didn’t start DJing but started feeling invested in the culture of what was becoming the burgeoning electronic music scene. It wasn’t until after college that Jake and Faf decided that they wanted to become purveyors of this culture. The Tomcats did their first gig in March of 2010 and the rest is history.
More recently The Tomcats have been playing in bars clubs and events throughout North Brooklyn and Manhattan. They have also been refining a sound that combines many of the dissected genres under the electronic music umbrella.
